Fresh AAIP Route for Law Enforcement Professionals

The AAIP is an economic immigration initiative through which the Government of Alberta nominates individuals for permanent residence. This program aims to select candidates who can effectively address the province’s labor market shortages and meet its demographic requirements.

The AAIP, one of Canada’s 11 Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), is launching a new pathway to permanent residence (PR). In 2024, the AAIP law enforcement pathway will offer 50 nomination spots for candidates applying through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This pathway is integrated with Express Entry, meaning applicants must fulfill all Express Entry requirements to qualify for permanent residency.

Eligibility:

To qualify for the AAIP law enforcement pathway, candidates must secure a job offer from an employer who is a member of the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police (AACP). Additionally, they must fulfill all Express Entry requirements to be eligible for this pathway.

Eligible occupations for the AAIP law enforcement pathway include:

  • Commissioned and non-commissioned police officers
  • Occupations in public protection services
  • Police investigators and similar investigative roles
  • Specialized roles within law enforcement
