Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently conducted a groundbreaking Express Entry draw, specifically targeting agriculture and agri-food occupations. In this draw, 600 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued. To be eligible, candidates needed to meet a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 354.
IRCC’s decision to focus on individuals with experience in the agriculture and agri-food sector, including roles such as agricultural service contractors, farm supervisors, and retail and wholesale butchers, aims to attract skilled talent vital for the sector’s growth nationwide.
Highlighting the significance of this sector, Canada’s agriculture and agri-food industry made substantial global contributions, exporting products worth nearly $92.8 billion in 2022.
This draw marks the third Express Entry event of the week. In the previous draw on September 27, 500 candidates proficient in French, with a minimum CRS score of 472, were invited. Additionally, on September 26, a total of 3,000 candidates received ITAs in an all-program draw, requiring a minimum CRS score of 504.
