New Rural and Francophone immigration pilots

Yesterday, Minister Marc Miller, overseeing Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, commenced the community application phase for the Rural Community Immigration Pilot and the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot.

Economic development organizations throughout Canada are urged to apply for either program or both. They will present applications on behalf of their communities, showcasing eligibility and outlining how immigration will bolster local economies.

IRCC will choose up to 15 communities for the pilots, considering their economic requirements, the provision of newcomer support services, and the capacity of their economic development organizations to collaborate with IRCC. The selected participants will be announced in the upcoming months, with onboarding and training set to commence this autumn.
